Client Advisor Assistant

Purpose of the Job

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Client Advisor Assistant to join the team based in Edinburgh. The role holder will work as part of the Wealth Management business supporting qualified Investment Advisers or qualified Wealth Planners to deliver the highest levels of service to our clients.
This is a first line of defence role.

Key Accountabilities

• Proactively manage client queries and any other aspects of service directed by the Client Advisors.
• Maintain client files and records including new client set-up and deletion.
• Prepare, check and dispatch client valuation records to maintain accuracy and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in ensuring the team meets all its obligations in respect of the Client Profile Update / KYC process.
• Liaise with the Operations’ teams on behalf of the team with regards to all areas of client servicing including, but not limited to, account opening, payments, closures
• Maintain proactive dialogue with clients.
• Provide support for internal and external client communication as required, and reflect a culture of Compliance.
• Develop own professional expertise through on the job training, formal training and, where appropriate, professional qualifications
• Adopt new ways of working to continuously improve how we do business and deliver an efficient service to our clients
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure that all client accounts comply with legal, compliance and any other regulatory requirements.

Knowledge and Experience

Entry/Intermediate Level with an interest to grow your knowledge of the UK wealth management market.
Some proven experience and exposure dealing with HNW clients and internal processes.
Experience supporting a team of Client Advisors, ideally within a Private Bank or Financial Services environment.
Understands Risk within context of the role and meets the regulatory obligations, as applicable

Attributes and Qualities

Effective verbal and written communication skills, and fluent in English language.
Engaging telephone manner, comfortable handling client queries directly and a strong relationship builder.
Proactive, collaborative and proven team working skills. Supports and encourages others to generate a positive working culture, sharing information cross-functions.
Conscientious and detail orientated individual, with the ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
Well organised and efficient.
Able to adapt and work flexibly with discretion and tact to ever-changing demands.
Takes a solution-oriented approach and challenges the way we do things: “see it, say it, fix it”.

Technical Skills

Technically competent using Microsoft Office systems (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) ideally at intermediate level (minimum).
Capable of using either or both of G2 and Intelligent Office.
Act as true first line of defence for clients and Quintet through proactive risk management.
This is a ‘client facing’ position that is subject to the ‘individual conduct rules’ requirements and the firm’s relevant role specific guidance for ‘information givers’

Languages Skills

English (fluent / advanced)
Fluency and/or working knowledge of French, German and/or any other European language would be an advantage
