Purpose of the Job

We are looking to hire a mid to senior level banking and financial services lawyer with previous experience of  complex lending topics relevant to the private banking / wealth management business.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a new specialist legal team within the new Group Legal Function  exclusively dedicated to the legal support of the Global Product and Services (“GPS”) team, which includes credit products including providing legal advice and supporting its various projects across Quintet Group.


GPS is the department in charge of the entire range of products and services for the Group, including credit. It geographically covers all our locations. Its scope is very broad since the products and services include capital market products, alternative investment products, Quintet's structured funds, their distribution and all solutions offered to clients, including investment advisory, lending and wealth planning.


As a member of the Legal GPS team you will enrich your professional experience in the heart of the development of Quintet's products and services in an international environment. You will report to and work closely with the Head of Legal GPS. You will be based in Luxembourg, or UK.


You will focus on providing legal advice on complex credit matters for the Bank, across all three main booking centres, particularly where there is a multi-jurisdictional element to the credit proposal. You will be advising the Group Credit Committee on the credit structure and then working with colleagues in lending management, credit risk and with the lending specialists to draft the documentation and provide legal sign off on the deal.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide quality legal advice on a variety of structured finance / lending transactions as part of the normal lending business of the bank, as part of the Group Products & Services specialist legal team to enable Quintet to identify, manage and report legal risk pertinent to such transactions / business.
- Manage own workload in close collaboration with the Head of Legal GPS
- Pro-actively engage with the business / stakeholders.
- Work within Legal GPS specialist team collaborating with colleagues across the Group Legal Function, including the legal teams across Quintet Europe, the UK and in Switzerland, as well as the other specialist legal team, the Cross Border Legal Team

Knowledge and Experience

Mid to senior level qualified lawyer with in-house financial services experience of relevant products and services of a private bank, with focus on structured / multi – jurisdictional element lending

Experience in: complex lending/financing instruments, other products and services experience – e.g. Distribution Agreement, Private Equity funds, UCITS funds, Alternative funds and products, a plus.

Experience in international lending transactions, security arrangements and related documentation standards

Experience from multi-national law firms a plus

Ability to advise the GPS function from a Group perspective, working with colleagues across the Legal Function to receive their local validation

Effective verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting solutions with stakeholders which are easily understood

Technical Skills

Qualified lawyer with at least 5 – 7 years’ relevant experience working in an in-house team in private banking / wealth management / financial services sector



Languages Skills

Fluent in English (drafting included); knowledge of French and/or German is an asset, dependent on location
