Senior Marketing Communications Manager

Job Overview

Manage the day-to-day Brown Shipley marketing content strategy, media plan and projects as defined and agreed with the Head of Marketing. Provide support and deputise for the Head of Marketing where required on group projects and local senior leadership meetings.

Delivery of the Marketing Campaign & Content Strategy
  • Lead alongside the Head of Marketing the delivery of the Marketing Content Strategy and Media Plan.
  • Lead and continually develop with the Head of Marketing the integrated media and content strategy for Brown Shipley including; Pan-European Partnerships, advertising, audio, VOD, Programmatic.
  • Understand the media selections based on our target audience and how they can support an integrated marketing campaign across all channels including digital and events to maximise brand awareness and consideration.
  • Work alongside our media and creative agencies to ensure all media and creative deadlines are met. Understand the requirements for each media channel to ensure appropriate approvals are gained, i.e. ClearCast & RadioCentre etc.
  • Develop alongside our media agency a Dashboard and KPIs which are managed and maintained monthly. Ensure dashboards are communicated to key stakeholders and Quintet group where required. Understand the key performance indicators and refine and adapt media planning and selections based on results.
  • Lead with the Head of Marketing the development of a lead funnel management programme to assess the performance of leads in view of tracking activity through to ROI.
  • Act as a deputy for the Head of Marketing where required on group strategic projects liaising with Quintet affiliates to share best practices and enhance local activity.
Lead Generation Campaigns

Work alongside the Head of Marketing and Quintet affiliates to develop and deliver best practice lead generation campaigns to meet the local growth targets for Browns Shipley.

  • Implementation of lead generation campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Ensure all tracking and Google Analytics are in place along with funnel management in view and tracking and refining campaigns to produce the best ROI.
  • Develop campaign briefing documents to brief the campaigns to the business and front office teams to ensure alignment and support to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Ensure KPIs are set and monitored to support understanding, through the development of a lead management system as part of the 2021 Demand Capture projects.
  • Work with external agencies to ensure the lead generation initiatives target our agreed client profiles and segments.
  • Provide campaign wrap-up reports to assess the overall performance of the campaigns and to make recommendations for future refinements. 
Marketing Services

Lead the delivery of our Marketing Services function with the support of the Marketing Executive.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of new and existing client collateral assets.
  • Oversee the delivery of marketing assets as part of the marketing content strategy, as per the media plan.
  • Oversee the production of monthly product updates to agreed timeframes utilising approved templates
  • Work with external agencies to support the development, print and production of all assets looking to implement cost efficiencies and process improvements where possible.
  • Oversee the stock management programme ensuring sufficient processes and procedures are implemented to effectively manage and re-order stock.
  • Conduct agency reviews to ensure best practices and better ways of working can be fostered.
Client Communications

Manage the production of all client communications (mail & email) including, but not limited to;

  • Development of a client on-boarding programme to effectively on-board clients into the business.
  • Lead and scope the development of our client customer journey communications in line with group requirements to maximise our brand and service offering. Work with group marketing functions deliver a consistent client customer journey programme that works across affiliates.
  • Support the development of the client data lake project to best support the marketing team in terms of easily accessing data for all client communications.
  • Development of an ongoing ECRM programme (subject to data access) to engage clients and drive client loyalty. Develop best practice email templates to maximise email performance
  • and ensure all emails are monitored and tracked in view of performance results.
  • Research and develop client loyalty programmes in view of maximising the assets under management and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Lead all client communications including content creation covering:-
    a) Marketing communication messages
    b) All regulatory and legal communications
    c) Any financial or macro-economic communications as requested by the business.
  • Support the delivery of our Counterpoint CIO communications working alongside our group CIO team, ensuring all content is delivered to clients in the most appropriate way.
  • Lead the delivery of wealth management content looking at the most effective way to deliver this content through e-communications or newsletters.
  • Ensure data for all communications is provided compliantly as per GDPR requirements and is securely passed to any external parties. Ensure all steps have been taken to de-risk data breaches.
  • Work with external mailing houses to execute mailing communications to ensure communications are delivered by the set timeframes.
Project Management

As defined by the Head of Marketing, lead and manage with the team, ad hoc projects, utilising industry knowledge and ensuring Brand Guidelines are adhered to.

Budget

To manage the marketing budget ensuring spend is in line with the marketing annual budget. Complete monthly budget reconciliations reporting actual spend against plan including any reforecasting of budgets.

  • Ensure all quotes and invoices are tracked on the Marketing PO Tracker.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of the budget lines under your responsibility.
  • Manage the invoices process through the G2 system ensuring invoices are appropriately coded.
Brown Shipley Brand
  • Ensure the Brown Shipley Brand, as documented in the Corporate Guidelines, is adhered to at all times and that quality and consistency are checked and maintained across all areas of marketing output (printed material and stationery, intranet and website). Including all in-house templates (both Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign).
Regulatory Experience

Understand the principles of Financial Promotion rules in regard to all marketing collateral.

  • Maintenance of the Marketing Compliance Register in line with Compliance guidance ensuring all assets are reviewed on an annual basis
  • Ensure all procedures for regular marketing duties are up to date and accessible.
  • Maintenance of the BSCo 35 Client Communications & Financial Promotions procedures ensuring all processes are reviewed and updated accordingly.
External Supplier Management

Ownership of external supplier relationships as specified by the Head of Marketing ensuring all deliverables are on brand, to high quality and within budget.

  • To support the Head of Marketing in terms of agency reviews ensuring best practices and costs savings are gained where appropriate.
General
  • To support the wider marketing team, sharing experience and best practice to colleagues. This role will work towards having line management responsibilities of the Marketing Executive as part of the continued integration within the team.
  • To develop own professional expertise through on the job training, formal training and, where appropriate, professional qualifications
  • To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by Head of Marketing.
