The Chief Data Officer provides leadership as he/she coordinates the definition of data management standards and data quality guidelines across the group and supervises the enforcement of the data governance and the data quality framework.
The successful candidate also evaluates, monitors and reports on data quality, as well as coordinates data quality issues and data quality initiatives.
 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Build and supervise the Data Office across the group
  • Issue policies and guidelines
  • Oversee proper implementation of the data governance and quality framework throughout the organisation
  • Support consistency for data management across the bank applications systems (MDM solution, data dictionary, data quality rules …)
  • Coordinate resolution of data / reporting quality issues
  • Evaluate and monitor data quality through data quality processes; report data quality KPIs to top management
  • Participate in relevant change management processes such as the mergers or acquisitions of material legal entities, outsourcing of services to third parties and the launch of new products to ensure data quality standards apply
  • Review new data needs as part of new projects and initiatives: new regulatory requirements or strategic needs.
  • Collaborate with data owners to ensure business and digital transformation goals and priorities are met 
  • Create and animate data community and insufflate data culture throughout the group
     

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • 5-10 years experience in a senior-level data management role.
  • Management experience.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Risk, IT.
  • Sound knowledge of banking business, BCBS239 principles, data quality, data management standards
