The Financial Risk department, as part of the Group Risk function, is responsible for assessing and supervising financial risks across all Group entities. It acts as the central architect of the function’s risk data warehouse, supporting both regulatory and internal reporting requirements. The department plays a key role in transversal risk initiatives such as the ICAAP and recovery planning, and serves as the Group’s centre of expertise for quantitative analysis and risk modelling.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as a key contributor in Market Risk management, with responsibility for specific risk areas (Trading Book, Banking Book, Liquidity, Counterparty, or Investment Risk).
- Take ownership of specific parts of the Market Risk framework, including recalibration of indicators, testing of new scenarios, or targeted methodology improvements.
- Deliver high-quality Market Risk oversight outputs, ensuring accurate monitoring, reporting, and control for assigned domains.
- Independently produce and review periodic risk reports, ensuring timely delivery and escalation of material findings.
- Coordinate sections of annual review exercises (ICLAAP, Recovery Plan, Risk Appetite Review), consolidating contributions across functions.
- Review and challenge investment proposals, risk levels, and hedging strategies within assigned mandate, highlighting capital and loss potential implications.
- Act as point of contact for specific stakeholders (e.g. ALM or Trading Desk), maintaining productive collaboration.
- Assess implications of new regulations in assigned area and propose practical implementation steps.
- Prepare analytical input and commentary for executive-level reporting and committee packs.
- Contribute actively to quantitative research, model validation work, and improvement projects around risk data and infrastructure.
Knowledge and Experience
- Further professional Education (Masters / Professional qualification)
- More than 5 years experience in a similar role
