Purpose of the Job

As a Team Leader you will be responsible to lead, mentor and manage a team of client advisors and client advisor assistants across one of several cities. You will be actively contributing to the achievement of our Wealth Management strategy, transformation, and growth ambition. You will be an instrumental role in driving the team commercial, financial and risk performance and ensuring that client families we serve are at the core of everything we do, leveraging the Quintet value proposition. You will be ensuring that the team operates in line with Quintet's internal policy and procedure framework as well as relevant external regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
People and Talent management
- Act as coach, talent manager & talent scout striving to raise the bar by attracting, developing, robustly manage a team of Client Advisors and Client Advisor Assistants across one or several cities, from a profitability, client service and risk accountability perspective
- Develop and maintain a local market practice and knowledge targeting specific local client market segment(s) aligned with the Group Private Banking Strategy, Risk Appetite and Offering proposition. Ensure all team members operate within this framework.
- Set clear individual performance targets for the members of the team and overall for the team, rigorously & regularly tracks performance against agreed commercial, financial and risk indicators, set remediation action plan where required
- Translate the Quintet Wealth Management strategy into an inspiring vision for the team to develop business and connectivity, actively contribute to the transformation initiatives of the Wealth Management function
Client Relationship Management
- Ensure that client advisors of the team maintain a strong and sustainable relationship with client families through regular visit and contacts
- Actively engage with the (most important) clients of the team and develop a strong knowledge of these clients, participates to client meetings and events
Client Acquisition
- Actively contribute to the identification of new leads through the effective use of own network targeting prospects , follow-up and manage the team acquisition pipeline
Risk management
- Act as 1st line of defence risk manager for clients & the bank through proactive risk management of financial, compliance, conduct and operational risks arising from servicing clients in the team.
- Is accountable for the appropriate and timely mitigation of any team wide issues raised by Business Risk Management, Risk, Internal Audit or the Regulator at any point in time and within the parameters defined by the Firm’s Risk Appetite Statement and related frameworks
- Perform control activities and exercise relevant oversight
- Ensure that both clients newly onboarded, and existing clients of the team are in line with the Group Strategy & Risk Appetite, have been timely and appropriately risk assessed in line with the internal FCC requirements and internal quality standards
- Ensure that all operations affecting clients of the team carried out in accordance with regulatory and internal policy requirements (e.g. client suitability, Financial Crime Compliance or other relevant internal policy)
- Live by and demonstrate to the team members a strong Risk & Compliance culture of in all relevant tasks and throughout the company. Is accountable to proactively flag Risk & Compliance issues in a timely manner
- Act as a role model towards the members of the team for business ownership and responsibility for risk management in line with our core values at any time or for any amount of revenue.
- Always does the right things, does not compromise on our high ethical standards in our interactions with each other or external stakeholders, e.g. clients and regulators
- Ensure that performance on risk management indicators and expectations are appropriately considered in the year end appraisal process
Knowledge and Experience
- Further professional Education (Masters / Professional qualification)
- More than 5 years experience in a similar role
- Proven and relevant experience within a wealth management or private banking role within financial services industry
- Has experence in an International, multi-jurisdictional environment with strong cross border experience and experience of running a booking centre
- Knowledge on order and execution process, hiring and on giving orders for securities and for trading and investing products and services
- Has solid background in building cross collaboration and maintaining long-lasting relationships with a successful portfolio of clients and prospects, and comfortable networking in new markets to generate leads and opportunities to create revenue
- Proven and relevant experience in managing people, developing team members to realise their growth potential, setting goals, reviewing objectives, and providing regular feedback and proactively taking action to manage underperformance
